Fully Remote (Europe)

About us

Imagine a world where observability is... well, easy. That's what we're building at Dash0. We're not just another observability company – we're a team of passionate experts who are obsessed with making observability accessible and delightful for every developer.

We are OpenTelemetry native, ensuring seamless interoperability within modern observability ecosystems, and our “welcome present” to the OpenTelemetry community, OTelBin, a free tool for editing, visualization and validation of OpenTelemetry collector configurations, is being extremely well received by the community.

We're looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our awesome team and help us build the best observability tool out there. You'll be working with cutting-edge tech and collaborating closely with the product team to create a truly user-friendly experience.

Your role in Dash0

At Dash0, you'll be a vital part of our engineering team, focusing on researching and delivering product features based on machine learning and other AI technologies. Your mission? To create a seamless and polished experience that delights our customers.

You'll work closely with your fellow engineers and product managers to design and implement new features, always seeking opportunities to improve and enhance Dash0. Your insights and ideas will be key to making our product even more intuitive and user-friendly.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver AI-based solutions that improve our customers’ experience with the product. Help maintain and develop our codebase of production-ready data & AI pipelines, models and AI-driven APIs.

  • Implement and evaluate state-of-art ML techniques that combine telemetry data and semantics to solve different problems of the observability domain, such as anomaly detection, root cause analysis, automated/assisted incident resolution, log sentiment analysis, forecasting, signal embedding and more.

  • Apply techniques such as model fine-tuning, RAG, Agents and Chain-of-Thought to optimize different LLM applications such as chatbots, copilots, generative UI elements and LLM-based pipelines for signal parsing and enrichment.

  • Support innovation and data driven decisions at Dash0 by performing structured experiments, data exploration and literature research on proposed topics and use cases.

  • Share your knowledge: You'll actively contribute to documentation, share your expertise with the team, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

About you

You're someone who thrives at the intersection of data, AI, and software engineering. You're passionate about building solutions that make a real-world impact, and you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get things done.

Here's what you bring to the table:

  • You are used to working with software engineering teams to ship data & AI solutions at scale. You can easily familiarize yourself with the team’s processes and reuse the existing tools to deliver software that conforms with the team’s architecture guidelines and quality standards.

  • You have a solid mathematics and statistics background, being able to understand, discuss and evaluate different technical approaches to a problem. You value scientific rigor in the way you conduct research, collect evidence and document your findings.

  • You have experience training and evaluating predictive models using real world data and facing the challenges of non-ideal environments (e.g.: label imbalance, anonymization requirements, cost limitations, etc). Having applied semi-supervised learning is a bonus.

  • You are a curious individual, excited about the possibility of AI applied to software. You have familiarity with Generative AI technologies and their application in data analysis. You are also poised and realistic on what it takes to ship a great product based on it.

Ideally, you also have:

  • Some experience operating software, and have used some monitoring tools to help you with that. Experience with OpenTelemetry or similar observability tools is desirable.

  • Experience in a SaaS or B2B startup and enjoy the fast-pace of work a startup entails.

And you:

  • Hit the ground running and value autonomy, but you also know when to reach out for support.

  • Are an effective communicator who values documentation and knowledge sharing.

  • Are eager to learn, challenge yourself, and contribute to the growth of Dash0 and your teammates.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary & equity package.

  • Fully remote company and a flexible work environment.

  • Quarterly come-togethers in Europe for fun, team-building and discussions.

  • Collaborative and supportive team culture.
